I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist (MSc) based in Kenilworth.
I offer confidential professional psychotherapy and counselling using an integrative approach. I work with individuals on a range of problems and issues including, but not limited to: relationship worries, work related issues, loss and bereavement, eating disorders, childhood difficulties, abuse, self-esteem, confidence and assertiveness, stress, anxiety, and depression. I work mainly long-term but the number of sessions depends greatly on the nature of the concern and your preference.
My approach to psychotherapy/ counselling is from an integrative ‘relational-developmental’ stance, which incorporates Psychodynamic, Object Relations, Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Humanistic and Transactional Analysis. My primary focus is working with you in a relaxed, relational way to develop a therapeutic relationship which provides a safe space and the time and opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings and concerns.
I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as an integrative psychotherapist, and as such, abide by their Code of Ethics, and that of The Sherwood Institute in Nottingham, where I trained. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I also work with long-term clients in Birmingham. Prior to retraining as a psychotherapist, I taught English Literature. I am a qualified holistic and sports massage therapist.
A session usually comprises 50 minutes. Our first session together will be to assess whether we feel we can work together. If we decide to go ahead, we will then agree a contract of working which will outline frequency of meeting (usually weekly, at the same time each week), confidentiality, data protection, complaints procedure and payment of fees.
Please do get in contact: I would be happy to talk with you about your concerns and to discuss if counselling/ psychotherapy could be a suitable option for you.
Telephone: 07962 114 125 – please leave a message and I’ll get back to you.
